RESEARCH GRANTS

The Dr. Debra Newman Ham Scholarly Enrichment Grant

In honor of the trailblazing historian and archavist, for her work in preserving African-America history and supporting  the scholary developments of students and researchers for over forty years, HAFRAM G. C. has established the Dr. Debra Newman Ham Scholarly Enrichment Grant.

 

Beginning in the Summer of 2015, HAFRAM, G.C. will be awarded two research grants with the aim of providing finacial suppourt for students seeking scholary and professional development in there prespective subject areas. All grants are offered annually and are intended to further research in progress. Grants can be used for travel to various academic conferances, to a library or archive for thesis and dissertation reasearch. The above purposes are examples and are not exhaustive (expenses, such as child care, can be included).  The tentative deadlines for the reseach travel grants are as follows;

 

  • Summer- March 30th

  • Fall Semester-June 30th  

Doctoral Student Grant 

Graduate Department of History
 

One Dr. Debra New-Ham Distinguished Scholar Research Grant will be awarded to doctoral students in history, with special consideration going to those who are in the process of preparing for dissertation research.

Masters Student Grant

Graduate Departments of African American Studies,

History, and Museum Studies. 

 

One  Dr. Debra New-Ham Distinguished Scholar Research Grant will be awarded to masters students in the fields of African American Studies, History, and Museum Studies, special consideration will be given to students who are in the process of preparing for dissertation research.
