RAS WAYNE ROSE

 

Wayne A. Rose (Ras Wayne) is a native of Kingston, Jamaica and Baltimore, Maryland. He holds an Undergraduate degree in Africana Studies and a Master of Arts in History from the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC). He is currently completing his Ph.D. in History at Morgan State University.

Ras Wayne is a Research Collaborator at the Smithsonian Institute of Natural History, a Board member of the Iniversal Development of Rastafari Inc. (IDOR), and also, the past President of Rose Healthcare Staffing Services Ltd, a Maryland based Nursing agency. He is trained in business management, public and oral history creations and presentations and works closely with indigenous communities in Ethiopia, Jamaica, the USA, Kenya and Ghana.

Ras currently teaches Africana Studies at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, and is an instructor in history at Baltimore City Community and Howard County Community Colleges.
